Having witnessed many different bachelor parties myself, I must agree that the bachelor really gets a lot of action on his last night. However, it doesn't have to be the 'last' night before the wedding. It’s better to have the bachelor party earlier, rather than the day before the wedding. Otherwise, there’s a chance the groom might not make it to the wedding, which fortunately is far from reality and is more of a film fantasy. Bachelor and bachelorette parties are getting more 'wild' every year, in a good way. People are coming up with all sorts of quirky ideas.
Whereas 30-40 years ago, it was commonly understood that a bachelor party was more of a proper drinking night in the company of ladies of the oldest profession, today the reality is that the groom is put to the test one last time. Is he really ready for marriage or not?
Some quirky examples from real life include situations where the groom has to profess his love to his future spouse several times during the bachelor party, but since his actual fiancée isn’t present, a blow-up doll is brought along for this purpose... of course, it has to be done in a crowded place.
There have even been instances of kidnapping or arrests as part of the fun. The groom is taken directly from his workplace or home while he’s still asleep, completely unaware of the situation.
There have also been instances where a blow-up doll is taken to a pool, and the groom naturally has to 'rescue' it. Nowadays, you can find many outrageous examples online… for instance, one very popular activity is bungee jumping, but from a height of 1 meter. Blindfold the groom, drive him around in a car, walk him somewhere, and then 'prepare' him for the jump; in reality, he lands in the water or somewhere else soft.
Let's now get to the real planning of the bachelor party. Having read the introduction, you're sure to start coming up with some truly wild ideas. However, let's talk a bit about the organizational side of the bachelor party.
Our first answer to 'how to organize a bachelor party' would naturally be to take it to the sea! Go sailing, of course, and enjoy other activities on the water... such as jumping off the yacht and swimming. You can also hire a catamaran, and the groom can be towed on a tube behind it, or try 'swinging' from the sail (check out the videos). A party at sea will definitely be memorable for the groom, especially if it's his last night of freedom. Our yachts/sailboats are all large and equipped with all the amenities. There are restrooms, cabins, sofas, music, kitchens, etc. It’s like having small apartments on the water.
Men tend to leave everything to the last minute, which reflects in the outcome of the bachelor party. However, if it’s for your good friend, make sure to plan the bachelor party well in advance—especially if you’re planning something particularly memorable. It’s essential to have someone as the organizer who knows the groom best; others can serve as advisors and suggesters. The organizer should also consider the friends who are coming to 'send off' the groom, but the main focus should still be on the star of the evening. The primary goal of the bachelor party is to create a fun, enjoyable, and active day/evening for the groom. A typical 'night out on the town' can wait for another time. It’s important to think through the purpose of the evening. I'm sure no one wants the wedding to be called off because of a too-crazy party. It's also crucial to ensure that the groom doesn't get into a disagreement with his fiancée because of an overly 'wild' celebration.
The first thing that might come to mind is some movie, particularly the popular 'Hangover' film series. Let's leave the film antics to the movies. Clearly, things are a bit exaggerated there and can be downright dangerous at times. It’s also best to avoid jokes that go too 'sexy,' where the groom is put to the test, possibly while a bit intoxicated, and tempted with various offers from the opposite sex. Good friends should keep an eye on the groom and ensure that the activities don’t go overboard.
The bachelor party should be spent only with the best friends. It’s definitely a good idea for everyone to know each other and to ensure that there are no conflicts among anyone. It’s also advisable not to invite each other (meaning the bride and her bridesmaids) to the party. Those kinds of parties can wait for another time. It’s best to plan the event in such a way that they don't run into each other.
We have organized hundreds of bachelorette parties over the years. I don't know why; do men fear coming to the sea? Or maybe they just can’t find us? But now you've found us! These kinds of parties become particularly trendy during the summer season. It seems that this time of year is also the best time for weddings! The weather is warm, allowing for more outdoor and active activities to be planned.
But let's offer some more ideas:
Go to the forest, literally! Go hiking and plan a multi-day trek. We believe it will definitely be memorable! It’s certainly better than just going to watch strippers and drinking a lot of alcohol. For the hike, we can take your group to Naissaar, for example. There, you can drive off-road vehicles, explore the island in military vehicles, rent bicycles, play volleyball, and more. You can also book a sauna and accommodation on the island! Now that would be a real adventure!
In addition to wandering in the forest, one more active entertainment option is to play paintball. It’s a great way to get an adrenaline rush! You can also book it through us, for example, by organizing a paintball battle on the island somewhere.
As a separate idea, which rather falls under the recommendations, set limits on alcohol consumption, especially at the beginning of the party. There will definitely be a strong temptation to crack open the beers right when the party starts. However, for such an event, the day often begins early, and you definitely don’t want to remember the last moments of the day/evening/night. To help with this, you could have a 'designated drinker' who ensures that everyone stays within limits. The best way to do this is to keep alcohol separate for each event that takes place throughout the day.
Enjoy good food. If you know that the groom isn't into partying, it might be worth considering a nice gourmet evening as an alternative. Go to a more upscale restaurant and try different dishes. We ourselves offer a package in collaboration with Restaurant Sardiinid: linkSailing and good food together!
Under the previous suggestion, you might also consider the idea of enjoying cigars at a cigar bar.
In other words, do something you haven't done before. We believe that the sea is always what creates lasting memories!
